Hey-o...
It's that time of the movie-going month - Viva's cinematic beacon and liaison to the Lincoln
Gabriel
Caroti wants YOU to know that WE are yet again screening another choice film at the
Walter Reade Theater on
W 63rd and Broadway. What's it? The
Last Days Of Disco. No, not the disco equivalent of the Gus van Sant film that allegorizes the final days of a "grunge icon"'s final days on Earth - this is the 1998 classic starring Viva ambassador
Chloe Sevigny and
Kate Beckinsale. Whensit? Thursday,
August 27th.
Set in NYC, this should be a great flick to catch on the silver screen with a crowd of locals and/or disco-hounds, and you know that Viva draws in plenty of the latter... Heck, we even boast some of them as contributors. None other than
Dan Selzer will be DJing after the screening along with
Jeremy Campbell, who's known for his excellent
Dazzle Ships parties.
The clincher, as always, is the fact that there will be
FREE drinks at the apres-film. Seriously, as if this movie wasn't already good enough of a social lubricant... love it, hate it, you'll be talking about it vehemently after you've thrown back a few. And you'll be dancing while doing it, because those are two ace DJs. Just don't talk too much shit about it because director
Whit Stillman will be in attendance! You heard it from Ted...
